No idea if this family is related but Theophilus could be source of the family legend that one of the ancestors was "a judge in India". In fact a Deputy Collector is merely a member of a "lower echelon of the general civil service in India" and recruited almost entirely from persons born in India "whether European, Eurasian or Asian" (see British Library, India Office Records, Family History pages).
